Windows 8 will soon be released but the developer preview version of it is already available to be downloaded for free. The new operating system is geared towards the use of tablet and in CES 2012, there is already one that is promoting this particular operating system instead of the favoured Android. Lenovo, which has already come up with a lot of new and great devices, have another one up its sleeve and it is called the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga Flip. Quite a funky name for an excellent device.
The IdeaPad Yoga Flip is a tablet-cum-laptop which uses the future version of Windows which is the Windows 8. It uses 13.3-inch multi-touch IPS screen and is only 17mm thick. Its weight on the other hand lays at roughly 3.1lbs which puts it at the ultrabook  In addition to that, it uses the Ivy Bridge Intel processors to power the operating system. It also has an 8GB RAM and has a 256GB storage space. With all of this inside the Yoga Flip, it means that this particular device has a good performance as well.
The price of this tablet is yet to be announced and it might be released only when the operating system is finalized in up for selling. Until then, expect this device to be one of the first few devices that uses

Monster Cable and Beats stops their partnership

A lot of people may have heard about Beats but rarely Monster Cable. Previously, the two companies had a five-year contract on which Monster will be distributing the Beats by Dr. Dre devices. Renewal for the contract has come and with it being said and done, the two companies will not be renewing their contracts. Beats will be produced by other audio manufacturers in the future.
The disagreement on which caused the partnership to be abandoned was mostly about revenue sharing and credits for making the products a success. It seems that Beats wanted a higher revenue and credit for the success of Monster Cable. However, that might seem like the right thing to do because almost two-third of the revenue gained by Monster was from the sales of Beats products.
Audiophiles may rejoice with this stoppage of partnership because the products sold by the two companies may not be up to the standard of most audio devices for their prices. A lot of the Beats headphone offer sub-par audio performance as compared with its competitors being at the same price. However, a new partnership between Beats and a new company has yet to be seen and hopefully the result will be a product of a much higher quality.

HP shuts down WebOS, puts Windows 7 on its new Slate 2

WebOS has officially been shut down by HP with the final product being the HP TouchPad. However, that didn’t stop the company to make new tablets but instead of having their own operating system inside it, they put Windows 7 in their new HP Slate 2.
Sporting a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670, the HP Slate 2 has a 64GB mSATA drive with an additional SD card slot should its users wish to add more storage to it and like its predecessor, the Slate 500, the Slate 2 has a 3MP rear camera and has a front camera on which its predecessor does not have. The battery life of the Slate 2 can be quite pleasing at a rate of 6 hours per charge depending on the usage. In addition to that, like most Windows 7 tablet, it also has a stylus to accompany it as well. However, it doesn’t come cheap at $699.99 per piece.
Maybe the Slate 2 is a preparation for the new Windows 8 on which we shall be seeing a lot of tablet compatibility soon when it is released. Who knows, the device may even get a proper upgrade to the new operating system when it is officially released.

Logitech all set to unveil Solar Keyboard for Macs

Logitech is planning to introduce Solar-powered keyboard to Macs, since the consumers wants to see more Mac products. Last year, Logitech unveiled the Wireless Solar Keyboard K705.
Integrated Solar Panel and Compatible with Mac OS
Rory Dooley, the senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit reported that the company is proud and very excited to launch its latest and innovative solar keyboard to its users, especially who are using Mac OS.
The integrated solar panels on the top of the keyboard help users to power the K750 inside the office and out and the best part is, no battery is required. The icing on the cake is; even in total darkness, it can last for about three months. One can connect the keyboard over a 2.4-GHz frequency using a Logitech’s Unifying Receiver, which is a USB device and comes along with the keyboard.
